Your users don't have your phone
Why we test every launch on budget devices, and the three techniques that keep heavy, animated sites smooth on them.

Design reviews usually happen on a new laptop or a flagship phone. Your visitors, especially from paid campaigns, often arrive on a three-year-old budget device with a weak GPU. If the site stutters there, the campaign budget leaks.
Measure, then decide
We detect a rough performance tier on the first visit and adapt: lighter images, fewer blurs and simpler motion on weak devices. Everyone gets the same content, just a different amount of decoration.
- Pause what nobody sees. Animations behind an open overlay stop painting until the overlay closes.
- Serve the right image size. A phone never needs the 4K hero photo.
- Prefer CSS over JavaScript for accordions and transitions, so they stay smooth while the main thread is busy.
“Performance is a feature your users notice only when it's missing.”
